While more expensive, this form is at least twice as bio-available as the cheaper ethyl esters sold in supermarkets and other outlets which are perhaps less concerned about quality than us. Ethyl esters are harder to digest than triglycerides, and release ethanol into the body during metabolism…. In addition, the ethyl ester form, unlike the triglyceride form, does not have food approval.
