Triple Vino Circulation is a dietary supplement containing 3 vine extracts (Vitis vinifera), standardised in active ingredients.

A source of antioxidants excellent for the circulation, especially heavy legs, this supplement is part of our Heart & Circulation category.

Benefits of our red vine supplement for the circulation and heavy legs

The 3 ingredients in Triple Vino Circulation are both traditionally used and scientifically validated for their antioxidant properties and ability to support cardiovascular health (1-3).

Specifically, the supplement contains:

  1. an extract of red vine leaf: red vine leaf is a major source of flavonoids and other antioxidant polyphenols, which help protect cells and tissues against oxidative stress. The bioflavonoids in this plant also support the circulation, reducing the permeability and improving the resistance of blood vessels. The European Medicines Agency (EMA) recognises the use and efficacy of red vine for treating heavy legs, varicose veins, episodes of haemorrhoids, calf cramps, oedema (swelling), itching and other problems associated with venous insufficiency (ie, the pooling of blood in the legs due to poor venous return). Finally, red vine helps to maintain healthy blood pressure, a sign of good cardiovascular health, as its polyphenols promote blood vessel dilation (4-8) ;
  2. an extract of grape seed: grape seeds are also a well-known source of antioxidants, especially proanthocyanidins (including oligo-proanthocyanidins or OPCs), excellent for maintaining cellular health. Grape seeds also promote healthy blood vessels, as their various antioxidants help to protect the endothelium (the inner lining of blood vessels) and their OPCs promote ] nitric oxide production which relaxes blood vessels and improves the circulation (9-10) ;
  3. an extrait of grape marc: grape marc, or pomace, refers to the solid residues collected after the grapes have been pressed, and consists of the skin, seeds and stalks of the fruit. Rich in OPCs and anthocyanins, grape marc also has antioxidant properties. It’s good for the figure too: it promotes weight loss and helps control cellulite, as a result of its high content of polyphenols which improve energy metabolism and reduce the accumulation of fat (11-14).

3 strengths of the supplement Triple Vino Circulation for tackling venous insufficiency

Our supplement is notable in 3 specific respects:

  • parts of the vine naturally rich in polyphenols: each of the 3 extracts come from parts of the vine abundant in polyphenols, some of the most powerful natural antioxidants produced by plants. These polyphenols include bioflavonoids, OPCs, anthocyanins, etc.;
  • 3 extracts standardised in active ingredients: the most effective polyphenols in our extracts are present at high, optimal levels. Red vine leaf extract is standardised to 10% polyphenols and 4% bioflavonoids, grape seed extract to 95% polyphenols, 70% proanthocyanidins and 40% OPCs, and grape marc extract to 95% polyphenols, 30% OPCs and 2% anthocyanins, to bring you the very best of the grapevine;
  • a dose that’s both safe and effective: a daily dose (2 capsules) of Triple Vino Circulation provides 500mg of red vine leaf extract, 165mg of grape seed extract and 165mg of grape marc extract. This precise dosage has been calculated to ensure the supplement delivers both unparalleled efficacy and maximum safety.

Any questions?

How long does it take to feel the effects of red vine?

It can take 4 weeks to feel the benefits of a red vine supplement (ie, around 30 days, the length of a full course of Triple Vino Circulation).

The EMA recommends one week’s supplementation for haemorrhoids and spider veins (capillary fragility) and 4 weeks for heavy legs. If symptoms persist after 4 weeks’ supplementation, consult a health professional (15).

Is red vine associated with any adverse effects?

Taking red vine leaf extract is usually free from any side-effects.

There have, however, been occasional reports of adverse effects linked to red vine treatment:

  • digestive problems (stomach aches, nausea, rapid intestinal transit ...) ;
  • headaches and dizziness;
  • and rarer still, allergic reactions (itching, hives ...) (16-17)
Treating heavy legs with red vine: are there any interactions or contraindications?

Red vine supplementation should be avoided if:

  • you are pregnant or breastfeeding ;
  • you suffer from a blood clotting disorder or are taking anticoagulant medication (blood thinners), as this could increase the risk of bleeding (18) ;
  • if you are about to undergo surgery, again, to prevent excessive bleeding;
  • you are allergic to plants from the Vitaceae family, which includes grapevine.
Which other dietary supplements can be taken alongside these vine extracts?

Keen to fight oxidative stress? You can boost your polyphenol intake by taking a supplement rich in apple polyphenols (such as the product Apple Polyphenols) in addition to those provided by red vine.

Want to support your circulation and venous return? Then in parallel with your red vine supplement, it’s worth taking the best-known natural venotonic: horse chestnut. It contains aescin, an active ingredient which strengthens vein walls and thus helps improve the circulation, especially in the legs. For optimal efficacy, choose a supplement with a high aescin content (such as Horse Chestnut Extract). Be sure, however, to seek advice from your doctor if you suffer from a blood clotting disorder and/or if you’re planning to combine supplements or medication with potential anti-coagulant effects.

If you are particularly affected by heavy leg syndrome, you could also supplement with an extract of sweet clover (Melilotus officinalis) standardised in coumarin (a natural anticoagulant). This compound helps to activate venous circulation and thus eliminate the discomfort of heavy legs (try the product Lymphatonic). Here again, consult a health professional to prevent excessive thinning of the blood.
